Legal Counsel – Technology & Commercial Contracts (Public Sector)
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid: 2–3 days/week in-office)
Contract Type: Permanent or 12-Month FTC

About the Role
As Legal Counsel, you’ll be a key member of a dynamic commercial legal team, providing dedicated support to the public sector business unit. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice and help shape strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (MSAs, RFPs, licensing, data processing, etc.)
* Support contract negotiations with public sector clients and partners
* Advise on privacy and data protection matters (UK GDPR)
* Ensure compliance with public sector frameworks and procurement processes
* Contribute to strategic projects including M&A, AI-related legal issues, and supplier agreements
What We’re Looking For
* UK-qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience
* Strong background in commercial contracts and public sector frameworks
* Solid understanding of data protection obligations
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a team-first attitude
