Assistant General Manager who is passionate about creating a world-class environment for learn-to-swim in bespoke centres. This is a key role in both the daily operations and the broader vision to transform learn-to-swim delivery in the UK. Olympians Rebecca Adlington, Steve Parry, and Adrian Turner are behind swim!, the UK's leading premium learn-to-swim experience. We utilize bespoke facilities to provide high-quality swimming lessons for children aged 0-11, focusing on technique and core skills before progressing to distances. Our themed lessons are designed to be fun and engaging, and our members-only facilities include modern, warm changing rooms, a panoramic viewing lounge with refreshments, and a simple online booking system.
Role and Responsibilities
* Assist the General Manager in achieving service and financial targets as outlined in the annual budget and business plan.
* Oversee the delivery of engaging lessons for children and adults, ensuring excellent customer experience using swim! resources and programming strategies.
* Provide exceptional customer care to swimmers and their families, instilling these values within the operational team.
* Monitor programme performance and KPIs such as customer retention and Net Promoter Scores, analyzing data to inform improvements.
* Lead operational teams, including Lifeguards and Swimming Teachers, conducting rotas, observations, and performance reviews.
* Manage opening and closing procedures, ensuring compliance with policies and safety standards, and oversee risk assessments.
* Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety, aiming for a 5-star audit score and 100% health & safety compliance.
* Complete health and safety checks, keep accurate records, and proactively address hazards.
* Ensure the pool plant operates efficiently, performing scheduled maintenance and monitoring chemical levels in line with regulations.
* Coordinate with engineers and contractors for maintenance, managing budgets and schedules to optimize costs.
