Overview
The post holder will be expected to work with colleagues to provide a comprehensive acute and elective Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery service. This post will support a sub-specialist interest in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer.
Responsibilities
* Core member of the skin MDT in conjunction with Plastic Surgery, Dermatology and Histopathology
* Delivery of outpatient clinics, elective inpatient and day case surgery in Pinderfields General Hospital, Dewsbury and District Hospital and Pontefract General Infirmary
* Participation of teaching, training and audit, educational and clinical supervision of core trainees and specialist registrars
* Provision of advice and support to the clinical team and peers in a range of clinical and/or leadership situations in a professional and appropriate manner which inspires confidence, motivation, and teamwork within the field
About the post and Trust
The post has been created to support the existing consultants and specialists in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and to continue to develop the skin cancer service. Whilst the role will be based primarily at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield, we provide services at our other hospital sites in Dewsbury and District Hospital and Pontefract General Infirmary. The department provides secretarial support and office accommodation. The post holder will be expected to work with colleagues to provide a comprehensive acute and elective Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery service.
