# Senior Children's Residential Care worker## About the roleWelford House is a five bedded residential home, caring for children (between the ages of 12 and 18) who have had adverse childhood experiencesFor more information about this role or to arrange an informal chat please contact Tim.Morrison@nctrust.co.uk***Please note we do not offer sponsorship for this role so you should have the right to work in the UK without restrictions.***The role includes supporting with day-to-day life, which may include working alongside the children’s families and other professionals, assisting the children with education and life skills and providing the children with support and guidance and positive life experiences. We are a small home so we encourage a “family feel” where possible, this involves eating our meals together, creating positive relationships and supporting the care of our children from when the wake up in the morning to when they settle to their bedroom at night.You will set up the daily shift planners, delegate tasks to the residential care workers, provide formal and informal supervision to residential and domestic staff and oversee a small care team that strives to improves outcomes for children and you will be responsible for the running of the shifts and day to day decision making. There may also be occasions where you are responsible for the smooth running of the home in the absence of a manager and report writing of risk assessments and care plans.### About youYou need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic, patient and flexible amongst other things.You will find it easy to establish and build positive relationships with children.Applicants **must hold a full UK driving licence** as you will be accompanying our children to appointments or activities.You currently hold a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (RQF) or equivalentExperience of working with young people in either a professional or voluntary capacity is essential, as is evidence of an ongoing interest and commitment to children.We welcome interest from both new applications and those who applied previously as long as the gap between applications is more than 3 months.When applying **please ensure your supporting statement covers how you fulfil the essential criteria** set out in the person specification as this will be used for shortlisting.You will need to provide a full employment history including any gaps since leaving full time education.This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate.
