Offer description

My client, a manufacturing company supplying to the construction industry are looking to recruit a Project Coordinator on a full time, permanent basis.

***Candidates must have construction knowledge and experience and have the ability to interpret drawings***

Purpose of the Role

The Project Coordinator sits at the centre of every project, acting as the critical link between the Technical Sales team, Operations, and the Design and Engineering teams. The role exists to ensure that what gets specified and agreed with the customer is exactly what gets ordered, manufactured, and delivered — on time and to the correct specification.

This is a role that requires someone who can read and interpret construction drawings, understand build programmes, manage multiple project timelines simultaneously, and communicate clearly with both commercial and technical people.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination:

* Receive formal project handovers from Technical Sales, verifying that all required information is complete before accepting a project into the coordination process. Review customer drawings to extract all product requirements — product types, specifications, quantities, locations, and drawing references

* Create and maintain a Project Product Schedule for each active project, mapping every product requirement to the relevant drawing and build phase

* Obtain casting schedules and build programmes from customers or Technical Sales, and align product requirements to delivery windows

* Work backwards from required-on-site dates using Operations lead times to plan and trigger order placement

* Issue order requests to Operations with full specification, quantity, and required delivery dates, and confirm orders have been placed

* Coordinate deliveries with Operations and the customer, confirming dispatch dates, communicating delivery details, and resolving any delivery issues

* Monitor for changes — drawing revisions, programme shifts, quantity amendments — and update schedules, orders, and delivery plans accordingly

Design & Engineering Coordination

* Manage the flow of drawing requests and engineering support requests between Technical Sales and the Design and Engineering teams

* Ensure requests are submitted with complete briefs and the right input documents before they enter the Design or Engineering queue

* Track all active requests through triage, work-in-progress, review, and issue using the Design and Engineering Request Trackers

* Facilitate the weekly review meetings between Technical Sales and the Design and Engineering teams, ensuring priorities are aligned and blockers are surfaced

* Maintain the Design Output Log and Engineering Output Log, ensuring all issued drawings and assessments are properly recorded and stored

Communication & Reporting

* Run weekly catch-ups with Technical Sales and Operations individually, and chair a fortnightly three-way review meeting

* Maintain the master Project Tracker as the single source of truth for all active projects

* Maintain Change Logs, Escalation Logs, and Delivery Trackers across all projects

* Provide monthly summary reporting to management on project status, delivery performance, and any risks or resource concerns

* Communicate proactively with customers on delivery schedules and any changes, ensuring all commitments are confirmed in writing

Escalation & Problem Solving

Identify and escalate issues that cannot be resolved within the normal process. Reject incomplete handovers and return them to Technical Sales with a clear list of what is missing.

Work with Operations to find solutions when delivery dates are at risk, including alternative sourcing or partial deliveries. Escalate to management when workload or capacity constraints across Design, Engineering, or Operations are affecting project deliverery.

Person Specification

Essential

* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings — general arrangement drawings, section details, and elevation drawings

* Experience working in or alongside the construction industry, ideally in a coordination, project support, or technical administration role

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously without things falling through the cracks

* Clear, confident communicator who can work effectively with both commercial (sales) and technical (design/engineering) people

* Comfortable working with spreadsheets, trackers, and project management tools — this role lives and dies by its data discipline

* Proactive mindset — someone who plans ahead rather than reacting to crises, and who chases rather than waits

* Attention to detail, particularly when extracting product information from drawings and matching it to orders

* Understanding of construction project timelines, build programmes, and the concept of phased delivery against a construction schedule

Desirable

* Knowledge of construction fixings, masonry support, fire protection products, or similar building product categories

* Experience with casting schedules and precast concrete or offsite construction programmes

* Familiarity with fire safety requirements in construction (Approved Document B, cavity barriers, fire stopping)

* Experience using CRM or project management systems (e.g., HubSpot) in a construction or manufacturing context

* Experience in a manufacturer or distributor environment where technical sales and operations need to be closely coordinated

Personal Qualities

Methodical and process-driven without being rigid, team-oriented, resilient under pressure. Comfortable pushing back when information is missing or timelines are unrealistic — diplomatically but firmly.

Hours of work are 08.00 – 17.00 Monday to Thursday and 08.00 – 16.00 Fridays (1 hour for lunch), covering 39 hours per week.

An attractive salary of between £35-39k is on offer for the right candidate. In addition, my client pay an annual / quarterly bonus worth an additional £(Apply online only) per year.

Please send your CV for immediate consideration and interview.
