Where you'll be working
BGEN is one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear and Food and Beverage industries to deliver next generation, value‑added engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
* Work on complex control system projects as a systems engineer.
* Manage workload and progress of your team, working closely with the Project Manager & Lead Engineer to meet project milestones.
* Turn user requirements and existing software into streamlined control systems.
* Configure PLC and SCADA, write HMI logic to create systems that work smoothly and safely.
* Bench‑test software in the office and perform on‑site commissioning, ensuring systems run smoothly during SAT.
Qualifications
* Versatile systems engineer: from first PLC programs to complex, site‑wide integrations.
* Proficiency in PLC & HMI software development using at least two platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Schneider).
* Knowledge of communication protocols: EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS DP/PA, and Modbus TCP/IP.
* Hands‑on experience with SCADA systems.
* Experience with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
* Strong knowledge of electrical safety and safe working practices.
* Commitment to high health and safety standards.
