Key Responsibilities Work as part of a caring team to provide a safe and nurturing environment, promoting the positive development of young people. Support the day-to-day management of the home in a professional and competent manner, assisting the Service Manager in delivering the highest quality care. Lead and support colleagues to deliver therapeutic care tailored to each child's needs, fostering recovery, growth, and lasting change. Act as a positive role model for children and colleagues, building trusting relationships to meet everyday living needs. Record events, observations, and progress reports, contributing to the preparation and implementation of care plans. Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and organisational policies to promote the welfare of young people. Work flexibly, covering long day shifts, weekends, and sleep-in duties (approx. 4-8 per month). Candidate Requirements Essential : Minimum of 12 months' experience in children's residential care or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models. Essential : Level 3 qualification in Caring for Children and Young People (CYPW) or Residential Childcare. Essential : Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Strong communication skills and a naturally caring, flexible, and resilient approach. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, young people, and external professionals. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Flexibility to work long day shifts, weekends, and sleep-in duties as required.
