Join a friendly and welcoming team who take pride in the work they do. As the Material Supply Officer in the Dynamic Composite Centre (DCC), you will manage the timely supply of material provisions.

Reporting to the Material Planning & Control Manager, you will work closely with the Material Requirement Planners and Suppliers to ensure that the Material Planning and Control team hold sufficient parts coverage to support production continuity.

For the awareness of internal applicants: This is a JFF level 4 role.

This is an onsite position.

What you will do as a Material Supply Officer

1. Ensure that all parts and materials required from suppliers for repairs, spares, aircraft build, modification, maintenance, or any other scheduled task, arrive at the workplace/customer on time
2. Regularly review supplier order books addressing any issues, order alignment, schedule changes and supplier lead times constraints
3. Co-ordinate and support supplier portal e-business updates ensuring they are provided in a timely manner and are realistic and achievable
4. Accountable for the performance and service levels of your supplier accounts and the development of a strong dynamic relationship with those service providers
5. Manage your supplier accounts to include delivery schedule adherence to all agreed commercial and contract deliverables and in accordance with agreed service levels
6. Weekly/monthly KPI communication for your supplier accounts; including presentation of monthly performance measurements which may include Delivery Schedule Adherence, Turn Around Times, feedback on critical spares shortages and critical repair schemes, critical programme issues and Aircraft on Ground/High priority requirements
7. Assist in the preparation of supplier burn down plans where required which benefit and demonstrate improvement in supplier performance to the business and customer
8. Discharge the requirements of the business, customer contracts and the needs of the customer. You will conduct root cause analysis for all performance shortfalls and process failures, and develop the supply chain organisation to ensure opportunities for change are identified and actioned appropriately Manage/facilitate and/or participate within multifunctional and multidisciplinary discussions within both the industry and supply chain environment
9. Provide vendor status reports and statistics with issues and actions identified as requested to do so
10. Receipt of service entries and attachment of approved documentation into SAP utilising DMS system
11. Co-ordinate the control of engineering change proposals, concessions and technical requests into the business and dealing with obsolescence Issues as they arise
12. Action Quality Notifications (QNs) thereby resolving any non-conformances or quality related issues that are identified
13. Manage Invoice payments and discrepancies identified by supporting workflow systems.
14. Work in accordance with Cost of sales and Regulatory/Legislative requirements.

What you’ll bring

15. HNC level or equivalent, preferably in a business related subject, or will have previous experience of working within a material supply or manufacturing environment
16. Experience working across/within cross functional teams and have proven experience in managing key suppliers to achieve high levels of business satisfaction and confidence in their ability to meet business requirements
17. Ability to demonstrate agility in thinking in order to balance a significant number of variables before reaching an informed decision on supply issues
18. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to create and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within both the company and supplier organisations
19. Computer literate in company standard systems, including SAP
20. Able and willing to travel alone or as part of a team within the UK and overseas (minimal)
21. Have and maintain a valid driving licence
22. Possess a knowledge of materials and inventory management
