We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager / Fitter to join our growing team based in Rochester. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional who can lead workshop operations while ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring the efficient maintenance, repair, and management of construction equipment and machinery.
Key responsibilities include:
* Scheduling and supervising maintenance and repair activities
* Diagnosing and resolving machinery and equipment issues
* Managing workshop operations to ensure maximum efficiency
* Maintaining accurate service records and inventory systems
* Promoting a safe, compliant, and well-organised working environment
* Working closely with the wider team to support project delivery and operational performance
What We’re Looking For
* Strong technical knowledge of machinery maintenance and fault diagnosis
* Previous workshop management experience
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Strong communication and leadership abilities
* Experience maintaining records and managing inventory systems
* A proactive and reliable approach to work
