About Sweco Building Control

We are the leading Building Control consultancy in England and Wales, providing market‑leading expertise as a Registered Building Control Approver since 1998. We pride ourselves on quality and technical expertise that underpins our full suite of Building Control services. Our approach is to listen and engage with clients to anticipate regulatory issues and work in partnership to deliver successful projects.


Role Overview

We are looking for a talented and motivated Technical Director to join our Building Control team, based in the Maidenhead office. The Technical Director is a senior technical role that leads large‑scale, complex projects including healthcare, education and commercial high‑rise residential, and ensures that proposals and tenders are submitted in accordance with Sweco processes.


Key Deliverables

* Work in accordance with Building Regulations, Building Act, Approved Documents, Building Control Performance Standards and RICS professional standards.
* Take responsibility for contractual liability in the bids submitted.
* Negotiate the risk profile within a contract to generate new business opportunities.
* Attend and positively contribute to Board and Director meetings through application of experience, independent thought and alignment with strategy.


Qualifications

* Experience in a similar role.
* MRICS, MCABE, MCIOB membership or equivalent.
* Ability to influence and mentor.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
