The role Join Southern Housing as a Financial Analyst - Shape the Future of Residential Investment Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in one of the UK's leading housing organisations? Southern Housing is seeking a commercially minded and analytically driven Financial Analyst to support high-level capital allocation decisions and financial appraisals of residential property investments. Sitting within our Corporate Finance team (CFO directorate) and reporting to the Head of Investment Appraisal, this role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of strategic decision-making that directly influences our development, regeneration, and asset management initiatives. Based in our vibrant Farringdon office, with flexible hybrid working options, you'll collaborate with key internal stakeholders across Development Delivery, Commercial, Sales & Marketing, and more delivering insightful analysis that drives value and supports our mission to create quality homes and thriving communities. What you'll be doing Perform thorough review of financial appraisals of new and existing property development using Optimix appraisal model. Provide commercial and analytical commentary that will enable decision making, including scenario analysis where required. Review, challenge, and support financial appraisals of property sales opportunities using existing Asprey model. Develop full understanding of the appraisal models. Ensure assumptions and hurdles are up-to-date and correct versions of the models are used across the business. What you'll need Self-motivated with appetite to take on a diverse set of complex challenges; adept at managing priorities dynamically to suit fast-moving business needs Appetite for learning and continuous professional development; diplomatic giver and confident receiver of constructive feedback Able to demonstrate analytical approach to problem solving and strong numerical reasoning skills Ideally educated to degree level and/or studying towards a professional qualification (such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CF, ACT) Education or employment experience in finance is desirable but not necessary Solid experience with Excel for data management and/or calculation In your supporting statement, it is important that you address how you meet each of the above criteria providing real examples.
