Salary: M1 – UPS3 per annum (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic History Teacher to join schools in Hull. This role is ideal for someone who can engage pupils with the past, develop critical thinking, and foster a love for historical inquiry.
As a Teacher of History, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the History curriculum. You will encourage pupils to explore events, people, and societies, promoting analytical and evaluative skills. Collaboration with colleagues, supporting students’ wider learning, and engaging with the school community will be essential to help pupils reach their full potential.
Your Responsibilities as a History Teacher:
* Plan, deliver, and assess lessons in line with the History curriculum.
* Inspire pupils to develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
* Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
* Prepare and maintain teaching resources and materials.
* Encourage pupil participation in history clubs, projects, and events.
* Promote cross-curricular links and cultural awareness.
* Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to support learning outcomes.
* Maintain high standards of behaviour and motivation within the classroom.
* Keep up to date with curriculum developments and professional development opportunities.
Requirements for a Teacher of History:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching History in a UK school setting.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for History.
* Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
