About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Asset Operations Technical Service & Delivery (TS&D) team. As the Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for providing Electrical Operation and Maintenance Engineering. In this role, you will provide in-field engineering services & support the Area Managers, Technicians and contractors with both High Voltage and Low voltage equipment. You will ensure approved maintenance scopes are delivered collaboratively with the Asset Operations, Central Technical Authority and Contract partners ensuring comprehensive reporting throughout. You will also be working on a diverse portfolio of offshore wind assets primarily based at NNG Windfarm in Eyemouth as your main focus, with an expectation to work on our other offshore assets as required, travelling within the UK and Ireland when needed.

What you will be doing day to day

* Leading by example to maintain the highest level of standards in accordance with HSEQ requirements.
* Providing in-field electrical engineering expertise and support at site level across the full offshore asset portfolio.
* Supporting Asset Operation teams with Electrical / Electromechanical planned maintenance and handling emergent fault conditions on the EBoP and related generation plant.
* Reviewing and creating work scopes, work instructions and quality plans.
* Maintaining a questioning attitude, challenging current thinking and processes to seek alternative methods of working.
* Driving continuous improvement, reviewing standards and developing business cases for asset improvement and efficiency gains.
* Identifying robust and innovative solutions and ensuring advances in technology are utilised to upgrade assets and future-proof others.
* Managing technical queries raised by team members, contractors and suppliers.
* Managing the Asset Change Management process to document modifications, retrofits and repairs.
* Reviewing, updating and approving site documentation against existing single line diagrams, electrical drawings and Test Data.
* Identifying and categorising risks, adding them to the risk register with appropriate RAG status.
* Defining output requirements for external technical specialists for reporting (e.g., Root Cause Analysis) and ensuring asset integrity.
* Identifying target areas for operational asset performance improvements.
* Ensuring compliance with the EDF Power Solutions asset management policy and contributing to its development.
* Training to become Senior Authorised Person (SAP) under the EDF Power Solutions E&M Safety Rules.

What do you need to be great at this role?

* Proven leadership with experience delivering projects and programs.
* Ability to secure and maintain a safe working environment.
* Defect management and prioritisation.
* Strong commitment to health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
* Responsible and accountable in supporting Asset Operations and the wider team.
* Experience installing / operating / maintaining / testing HV switchgear, transformers, cables (XLPE), joints and terminations of all kinds.
* Minimum of HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent.
* NEBOSH or IOSH (or equivalent).
* Experience as an engineer in the power generation sector including renewables; offshore experience desirable.
* Physically fit to climb and comfortable working at height and offshore as required.
* Excellent at building relationships with external partners, stakeholders and internal reporting lines.
* Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas as required.
* Full UK driving licence.
