As cruising is becoming increasingly popular and more ships come on to the market, we’re excited to be expanding our Cruise product team to support customer demand. We’re now recruiting for an experienced Cruise Product & Commercial Manager to support the growth of our Ocean, Luxury, River and Expedition product offering.
In this role you will champion cruise product, being responsible for trading performance which includes defining, delivering and driving our cruise strategy and business plans. You’ll use your existing supplier relationships to negotiate contracts, market leading offers and commercial overrides.
This role can be based at our Leyland (Lancashire) office, hybrid or homebased in the UK (depending on experience).
UK and overseas travel will be required to attend and represent the business at trade shows and product/sales familiarisation visits.
Key Tasks
* Define, deliver and drive the cruise product strategy
* Negotiate market-leading contracts to achieve commercial targets including product revenue growth, conversion and overrides
* Select cruise product for brochures, marketing campaigns and tactical offers
* Calculate competitive prices
* Ensure product is loaded on our systems, represented correctly in our brochures and available for sale
* Work with the respective Sales Manager to review current performance, trading conditions to targets & budgets. Provide full trading reviews for weekly meetings, campaign and brochure reviews
* Organise, chair and review cruise planning meetings
* Use your in-depth cruise knowledge to increase cruise product and industry knowledge across the business.
To be considered for this role, we need you to have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
* Extensive experience in a similar role with strong knowledge of ocean, river and expedition cruise products
* Hold existing great relationships with cruise suppliers
* Strong supplier negotiation skills and experience of contracting cruise product
* A thorough understanding of hotel contracts
* A high level of attention to detail and copy accuracy
* Excellent communication skills, able to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
* Product merchandising experience
* Good analytical skills and strong commercial acumen
* Highly organised with the ability to work at a fast pace managing significant workloads
* People management experience would be an advantage
