Job
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting a varied client portfolio, with responsibilities including:
* Managing client bookkeeping and preparing VAT returns across a range of clients
* Organising and maintaining client records, including use of Xero add-ons such as Dext and other integrations
* Reviewing and improving internal processes and checklists to enhance quality control
* Ensuring accurate VAT coding and bookkeeping allocations to support compliant reporting
* Developing an understanding of VAT rules across different industries
* Acting as a first point of contact for client queries and maintaining strong client relationships
* Supporting clients with Xero setup and delivering training where required
* Assisting with the implementation of cloud-based accounting solutions for new and existing clients
You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* Strong bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice environment
* Proven experience preparing VAT returns
* Solid knowledge of Xero, with exposure to FreeAgent and QuickBooks being advantageous
* Experience using cloud-based tools such as Dext or similar integrations
* A proactive mindset with a desire to improve processes and contribute ideas
* Good understanding of VAT principles, with willingness to develop further knowledge
* Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
