Acre is rebuilding the UK’s £1.4 trillion mortgage market from the ground up, with a completely new end‑to‑end system for mortgage advisors. Responsibilities
* Take ownership of developing our test automation systems and act as a subject matter expert for tests and test infrastructure.
* Manually test various flows and edge cases.
* Write reusable and extensible tests that evolve with the product at the unit and integration levels.
* Help the product development team build processes and feature specifications to ensure a high‑quality, usable, secure and reliable product.
* Communicate the strategy for ensuring quality to the team and external development partners.
* Design and build prototypes and experiments to validate and improve system architecture and test approach gaps.
* Continuously improve the development process with a view to end‑to‑end quality.
* Coach, lead, and grow a quality mindset in the team.
* Quantify everything.
* Trust but verify.
* Help develop people in the team and deepen understanding of testing and test‑driven development.
Qualifications
* Real‑world knowledge and experience with software quality and testing.
* A degree in a technical discipline.
* Ability to read and write code.
* Experience with JavaScript and Go is preferred but experience in any language is acceptable.
* Passion for shipping products customers love.
* Skill in analysing and debugging HTTP exchanges.
* Understanding of how Single Page Applications (ideally React) work.
* Embrace uncertainty and constantly challenge yourself and your team to improve.
* Eye for how to break things, with a healthy skepticism that sniffs out potential issues.
* Knowledge of how security, performance, usability and scaling contribute to quality.
* Belief in explicit communication.
