Job Type: Casual. Salary: £18.27–£19.30 hourly, depending on experience; current rate £20.33 hourly.
About the role
To lead the care team to ensure delivery of excellent standards of care, prescribing, delivering, and supervising the execution of high quality care in accordance with Beaumont Care Homes Ltd policies and procedures; promoting rehabilitation where appropriate and independence where possible and desired with dignity and respect at all times. The role involves managing medicines administration, ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining resident experience from admission to discharge, and supporting staff development and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver and oversee the highest possible standards of person‑centred care, continuously assessing residents’ needs and wishes.
* Champion appropriate independence and personal choice; reviewing and updating care plans to meet changing physical, social and psychological needs.
* Oversee all aspects of medicines management on your shift ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered.
* Build and market the positive reputation of the business; communicate warmly and professionally with all visitors, including family, friends and other stakeholders.
* Ensure all elements of resident experience are positive, from admission to discharge.
* Participate knowingly and professionally in all inspection visits from RQIA, Trusts and CCGs.
* Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and best‑practice guidelines and proactively manage risks and report issues.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all matters relating to residents and employees, including care planning, assessment and incident reporting.
* Promote a cohesive team approach, ensuring delivery of high‑quality care and supporting staff wellbeing.
* Support the Home Manager in achieving key targets and in creating an atmosphere of connection between staff, residents and the wider organisation.
* Supervise and mentor staff in line with the NMC Code, ensuring appropriate staffing and smooth shift operations.
* Attend relevant meetings, team meetings and line‑manager appraisals.
* Engage in continuous professional development and meet NMC revalidation requirements.
Required Criteria
* NMC Registered Nurse.
* Numerate and literate; strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient with IT and communication systems required for the role.
* Ability to develop internal and external business relationships based on mutual respect and professionalism.
* Capacity to work under pressure while motivating and supporting your team.
Desired Criteria
* Experience delivering nursing care within the elderly healthcare sector.
* People‑management experience.
* Experience in quality and clinical governance programmes, including audit and care services.
