Overview
Maintenance Engineer - 24/7 role at Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate. This is a permanent, hands-on position in our Engineering team working on a 24/7 shift pattern.
The Engineering team is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of all equipment used to roast, blend, and pack our teas and coffees. The Maintenance Engineer will ensure that production and operations equipment is well-maintained and supported to a high standard, with a focus on improvements and development opportunities beyond reactive maintenance.
Shift pattern: 24/7 (12-hour shifts, 7am–7pm and 7pm–7am) with 14 shifts over 25 days, followed by 10 days off. Holidays are included within the shift pattern, with an additional 4 flexible days each year.
Responsibilities
* Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on production and packaging equipment in a food/FMCG environment.
* Engage in continuous improvement activities to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
* Work with the Engineering Duty Manager and the broader team to ensure safe, compliant operations.
* Utilise a computerised maintenance management system to track work and be KPI-aware.
Qualifications
* Recognised engineering apprenticeship or relevant engineering degree with practical application/experience
* ONC/C&G Level 3 or higher
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience in an FMCG environment
* Strong fault-finding expertise
* KPI awareness
* Experience using a computerised maintenance management system
