Overview
Band 3 Assistant Technical Officer, Pharmacy team at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend. Full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities
* Assemble and dispense in-patient, outpatient and take-home medication following standard dispensary operating procedures. All assembling and dispensing work is checked.
* Participate in ward-based medicines management service: assess patients’ own medicines and organise supplies.
* Support the Pharmacy Logistics Service in providing safe, effective and efficient pharmacy purchasing and distribution services.
* Work within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and be guided by professional good practice guidelines.
* Work as part of a team and also independently, using own initiative to deal with routine enquiries (e.g., availability and supply of medicines to wards or patients). Refer to a Technician or a Pharmacist as necessary.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Essential: GCSE Maths and English to Grade C or above.
* Essential: NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/Pharmaceutical Sciences or willingness to work towards.
* Desirable: Welsh language skills (Speaking & Listening Level 3, CEFR B2) is advantageous but not essential.
* Experience: Previous work in healthcare is preferred.
* Attributes: Accurate and methodical approach.
