We are looking for Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to work alongside an integrated mental health team based at HMP Humber. As a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, you will work as part of an integrated primary care mental health team within the prison to train in and provide high volume, low intensity interventions. This includes a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions for clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. You will provide guided self-help in both 1:1 and group formats in line with the current Step 2 guidelines.
The role is base 4 days per week with attendance at university 1 day per week. There is a high volume of academic work within the training year, and 100% attendance at the university is mandatory.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high volume, low intensity CBT-based interventions for clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
* Provide guided self-help in both 1:1 and group formats in line with Step 2 guidelines.
* Attend university training 1 day per week and fulfil all academic requirements.
* Maintain 100% attendance at university and complete the required coursework.
Job Progression
Upon completion of the University course and the Rethink Mental Illness probationary period, you will automatically move to a permanent qualified position on AfC Band 5 with associated terms and conditions. A permanent position is only guaranteed if you achieve the University course.
