Facilities Assistant

Do you have experience completing general maintenance and organising contract work to ensure a comprehensive and efficient facilities and maintenance service. If you’ve answered yes, then you could be the right person to join our Facilities team based in Glasgow.

4. 2-Week rolling Rotation
5. Week 1 – Monday to Friday - 8:00am – 12:30pm
6. Week 2 – Monday to Friday - 12:30pm – 5pm
7. Please note that this role will be based in Glasgow and you will be required to occasionally travel to Saltcoats to support.
As our new Facilities Assistant you’ll be responsible for ensuring a comprehensive and efficient facilities and maintenance service at the Glasgow and Saltcoats site. You’ll be required to undertake Health & Safety related duties included weekly fire alarm testing and monthly water hygiene checks. You’ll also assist with some reception duties which includes fob access control and issuing of badges to anyone new to the office. Ensuring the starter, mover, leaver process is adhered to and update the Paxton system and relevant spreadsheet.
Key responsibilities include:
8. Collate monthly energy and multifunction device meter readings.
9. Maintain water coolers.
10. Stock control, order requests and take receipt of deliveries of all consumables including cleaning and stationery.
11. General maintenance duties to including small repair jobs, painting and joinery
12. Liaising with contractors on-site to ensure UKDS standards are adhered to.
13. Preparing and supporting annual PAT Testing.
14. Supervising contractors on an adhoc basis when work is to be completed out-of-hours.
15. Providing all visitors and clients with a professional and courteous welcome, signed in and out of the visitor's book and complete confidentiality documentation as required.
16. Carry out DSE’s as a trained H&S Rep, issuing equipment and updating spreadsheets.
17. Understand and adhere to all policies, procedures and legislation that affect the business services provided by Wescot.
Things we need from you:
18. Planning; prioritisation and organisational skills
19. Communication skills and ability to articulate with a range of people both within the business and visiting contractors
20. Experience in dealing with suppliers of goods and services
21. Basic plumbing and joinery skills
22. Have the physical ability to lift and move
23. Good knowledge of Microsoft office, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
