Role Overview
This post will provide efficient secretarial, administrative and reception support within the Young People’s Eating Disorder Day Service, River Lodge based at Wareham Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
* Register referrals and schedule appointments.
* Type therapists’ letters and other correspondence.
* Record minutes of team and professional meetings.
* Perform reception duties, answer and appropriately direct all calls into the service.
* Provide information to patients, staff, carers, relatives, GPs and Community Health Teams regarding appointments, patient care, service pathways and meetings.
* Maintain records, including computerised systems, databases and spreadsheets required by the Dorset Community All Age Eating Disorders team.
* Work with complex accurate data – typing clinic letters, discharge letters with medical information, and general outpatient appointment letters.
* Support the clinical staff with administrative and clerical duties in a busy, fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
* Highly motivated and experienced team secretary with comprehensive knowledge of NHS secretarial and administrative procedures.
* Excellent organisational and multi‑tasking abilities.
* Minimum RSA/OCR II typing qualification or equivalent.
* Good understanding of Microsoft Office; working knowledge of RiO preferred.
* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required; salary covers the cost.
* For current NHS service personnel – eligibility for a secondment and permission to be released on secondment.
