Automation Engineer Are you an experienced Automation Engineer looking to make a real impact within a fast-moving food production environment? This opportunity offers the chance to join a well-established manufacturing site in West Wales, where you will play a key role in maintaining, developing and improving automation systems that support efficient and reliable production. The Role Maintain and enhance automation systems including PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, control panels and variable speed drives. Provide first-line support for automation faults and breakdowns. Support capital investment and continuous improvement projects with controls expertise. Complete planned preventative maintenance activities and close work orders. Manage system backups and maintain accurate technical documentation. Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and site standards. Collaborate with engineering colleagues to deliver robust and sustainable automation solutions. About You HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical, Automation, Instrumentation or related Engineering discipline. Completed apprenticeship within an industrial manufacturing environment. Minimum five years industry experience. Strong working knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems (Siemens desirable). Experience contributing to automation or controls projects. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability. Proactive, safety-focused and continuous improvement mindset. Experience within food manufacturing advantageous.
