The Role
The role of a Pastoral Care Worker is suitable for candidates with the commitment, passion, and resilience to support pupils with social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) needs and special educational needs such as ADHD, Autism, and ACES. Working under the guidance of senior staff, they operate flexibly across the provision to meet pupils' needs. As part of a specialist team, Pastoral Care Workers help create a stimulating, safe, and structured environment for pupils with complex needs. When pupils are regulated, they support pupils’ long-term development through interventions, coaching, therapeutic activities, or general classroom support under a teacher's guidance.
About The Role
Location: Blackburn | Full Time | Salary: £444.90 - £524.90 per week | Start date: May 2025
Requirements
* At least 6 months experience in an SEMH, PRU setting, residential, or youth work.
* Experience working with challenging behaviors is highly desirable.
* Emotional intelligence and calmness in stressful situations.
* Ability to support students with unconditional positive regard and respond to individual needs.
* Proactive and able to work on initiative.
