Clare House School Porthcawl is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Upper Key Stage 2 Teacher to join our founding team. This is an opportunity to help create a new school community from the very beginning, creating meaningful learning experiences within a multi-age Year 5 and Year 6 environment where every child is celebrated, known and encouraged to thrive.

Role overview
1. Teach within a multi-age Upper Key Stage 2 class across Year 5 and Year 6
2. Deliver engaging learning experiences through experiential and transdisciplinary project-based approaches
3. Support children’s academic, social and emotional development through strong relationships and purposeful teaching
4. Adapt teaching to meet the needs of individual learners and support progress over time
5. Prepare pupils for the transition to secondary education through the development of independence, confidence and self-awareness
6. Contribute to curriculum development and the wider life of the school community
7. Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and the wider school community
Requirements
8. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
9. Strong understanding of the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum and child development
10. Commitment to creating inclusive, relational and child-centred learning environments
11. Ability to use an holistic assessment strategy of summative, formative and reflective approaches to effectively support pupil progress
12. Confidence working collaboratively as part of a growing and values-led team
13. Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to pupil wellbeing
