Our client is one of Britain's most historic luxury houses, with a heritage spanning centuries and a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship across fine jewellery and bespoke commissions. They operate two London retail locations in the heart of Mayfair, and are at an inflection point, commercially ambitious, culturally significant, and investing seriously in their retail future.
They are seeking a Retail Director to lead the performance of both London sites, reporting into the executive team. This is a senior role with real commercial weight: full P&L ownership, a personally cultivated UHNW client book, and responsibility for building a retail team that reflects the very best of luxury service.
The right person brings strategic vision and hands‑on leadership in equal measure, driving steady, repeatable trading while elevating every dimension of the client experience.
Responsibilities
* Lead the commercial and operational performance of both London locations
* Drive a move toward consistent, repeatable trading and sustainable revenue growth
* Own full P&L accountability, including EBITDA targets and financial forecasting
* Personally cultivate and manage a curated UHNW and VIP client book
* Lead, mentor and develop the retail management team, building a high‑performing luxury sales culture
* Oversee clienteling strategy, private appointments, trunk shows and bespoke selling events
* Ensure operations reflect world‑class luxury standards across every touchpoint
* Build strategic relationships with concierge networks, luxury hotels, and UHNW intermediaries
* Collaborate with marketing, product and finance to align retail execution with wider business strategy
* Represent the brand at key cultural and industry events across London
Experience sought
* Significant senior leadership experience within luxury retail, ideally at flagship level (10+ years preferred; exceptional shorter‑tenured candidates considered)
* Proven track record managing UHNW clientele and high‑value product categories
* Full P&L ownership with demonstrable commercial results
* Gem‑A qualification or equivalent welcome but not essential
* International luxury retail exposure advantageous
* Exceptional leadership qualities: warm, direct, and genuinely invested in team development
* Deep emotional intelligence, discretion, and the gravitas to operate at the highest level of the luxury market
