On behalf of a client, we are looking for a Third Engineer. Applicants must hold a UK passport or UK work permit. Role Overview: Engineering Operations Assist in the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of main engines, generators, and auxiliary systems Ensure continuous and efficient power supply for vessel operations and windfarm maintenance activities Maintain fuel, lubrication, and cooling systems to optimal performance levels Support safe operation of jacking systems (where applicable to engineering scope) Maintenance & Repairs Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with the vessel's PMS (Planned Maintenance System) Diagnose faults and perform repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Assist with troubleshooting electrical and control systems in coordination with ETO (if onboard) Ensure proper upkeep of pumps, compressors, purifiers, and HVAC systems Safety & Compliance Adhere to ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and UK MCA regulations Participate in safety drills and emergency response teams Ensure all engineering activities comply with permit-to-work and risk assessment systems Promote a strong safety culture, especially during offshore windfarm operations Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate engine room logs and maintenance records Report defects, incidents, and near misses in line with company procedures Assist in inventory control and spare parts management Environmental Responsibilities Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and pollution prevention measures Monitor and manage waste, bilge, and emissions systems Qualifications & Requirements: Certifications: STCW III/1 Officer of the Watch (Engineering) Certificate of Competency (minimum) Valid STCW basic safety training (including updated refresher courses) ENG1 Medical Certificate Designated Security Duties (STCW) Must hold UK Passport or a UK Work Permit Previous experience on jack-up vessels Familiarity with DP (Dynamic Positioning) vessels Experience Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a Junior/3rd Engineer or equivalent Experience in offshore energy sector (wind, oil & gas, or heavy marine operations) preferred Hands-on experience with diesel-electric propulsion systems advantageous Skills & Competencies Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a multicultural, offshore team environment Good communication and reporting skills High level of safety awareness and attention to detail Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic offshore environment Additional Information: Vessel: Jack-Up Vessel - Windfarm Maintenance Location: UK Waters (Must hold UK Passport or a UK Work Permit) Rotation: 6 weeks on/off
