We seek to appoint an experienced and passionate teaching assistant to support a child with an Education, Health Care Plan, to meet their Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
Experience of supporting children with special educational needs, a knowledge of different behaviour management strategies, along with an appropriate qualification in learning support would be a distinct advantage, but are not essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a caring and friendly team and to really make a difference.
If you would like to be considered for this rewarding role within our supportive setting, please refer to the job description and person specification.
Garton on the Wolds Primary School is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and barring disclosure.
Before making your application please note: In line with the Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025 as part of the safer recruiting requirements, an online and social media search will be conducted as part of our safer recruitment processes. This will only be undertaken if your application is to be shortlisted. The aim of the search is to specifically check the candidates suitability for the job, and that there is nothing evident that would undermine that. By proceeding with your application, the applicant is agreeing for the search to be undertaken.
Online applications close on 13 September. Applications will be received at the school up until 9am on 14 September.
If you already work for the council and have an Employee Self Service (ESS) account, please login to apply online using your ESS username and password.
Secondment
If you wish to apply for this role on a secondment basis please ensure you have sought approval from your line manager prior to submitting your application.
Schools applications
This school does not have the resources to send individual notifications to all applicants who are not shortlisted so if you have not been contacted within 2 weeks of the closing date you should assume you have been unsuccessful.
If selected for interview, an online search will be conducted for candidates. This is in line with KCSiE 2022.
DBS/Medical check
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS clearance check. The school is committed to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare. All members of staff are expected to share this commitment.
