A leading Facilities Management provider is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the on-site team at a large, high-profile gallery in London’s West End. This is a unique environment, combining public access, high‑end presentation spaces, and sensitive infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining lighting, power, and critical systems that support both the building and the artwork it houses. This is not a typical commercial site. It requires precision, care, and a strong understanding of how engineering directly affects the visitor experience and preservation standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive works on all electrical systems
* Maintain and fault‑find on lighting systems, including gallery and display lighting
* Support power distribution, emergency lighting, and control systems
* Ensure lighting levels and systems meet the specific requirements of exhibition spaces
* Respond quickly to faults to avoid disruption to visitors and exhibitions
* Ensure all work complies with health & safety and statutory regulations
* Maintain accurate logbooks and compliance records
* Work closely with site management and specialist contractors when required
The Ideal Candidate

Essential
* Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ / C&G Level 3 or equivalent)
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* Experience within commercial or high‑end environments
* Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
* A professional approach and good communication skills
Desirable
* Experience working in galleries, museums, or heritage buildings
* Familiarity with specialist lighting systems or controls
* Basic multi‑skilled knowledge (mechanical support)
