Project Manager (Air Conditioning / Refrigeration / Heat Pump Systems) £50,000 Bonuses Car Allowance Permanent West London & M25 outskirts, Reading, Swindon, Oxford Our client is a rapidly growing and expanding Air Conditioning Contractor with an overwhelming number of clients based in Central London and the outskirt areas of the M25. In your new role as our Project Manager would be responsible for the delivery of new projects on time and within the specified budgets. Your role would be part of the overall company’s project management team, reporting directly to the senior management team and would be encouraged to interact with all regions to help develop our client base and opportunity for future projects, for the overall good of the company. Your Key Responsibilities of the Role • Manage multiple projects at one time, throughout the UK, understand commercially the project costs and contract requirements and ensure we operate within budgets and meet the contractual obligations including the key points below. • Support the sales team with assistance with design or project costings, including providing necessary time to complete the handover of the project. • The preparation of H&S information including RAM’s and regular monitoring of site safety practices and quality. • Regular site visits to ensure the works are progressing well and the site personnel are operating in the correct manner. Most installers are subcontracted and as such a key role is with the management of the sub-contractors. • All works will be managed in line with company policies including H&S, Environmental as well as current legal requirements and compliance. • On occasion act as a principal contractor and administrating the necessary additional requirements needed. This would include management of multiple trades as well as the creation of the Construction Phase Plan (CPP) and working with a principal designer to ensure compliance with CDM and HSE requirements. • The project progress is to be managed through programmes/Gannt charts and regular reporting to clients and through the supply chain. Regular updates are required, and attention should be placed on both the programme dates and budgets. • Managing costs is key to a successful project, including securing prices that support the initial budgets, ensuring that applications and variations are submitted and within the time period and requirements of the contracts. Managing cashflow on projects and signing off invoicing and reducing over invoicing from the supply chain. • Understanding of the project requirements from detailed drawings, specification or site visit notes. Managing the works to ensure that these elements are delivered to the satisfaction of the client. • The ability to understand and administrate mechanical works outside of our regular works including alterations to existing mechanical services. This would be to facilitate decarbonisation schemes on commercial properties, including the installation of heat pump systems and alterations to the hydronic circuits. • Upon completion of the works, manage the commissioning stage of the works to meet the specification and manufacturers requirements. Compile necessary O&M and other information to meet company handover procedures. • The project manager would lead by example to help support, develop and implement the company values in all areas of our work and delivery of projects which would include the management of key accounts to help develop repetitive business. We would also on some projects offer a full turnkey solution, acting as a principal contractor, incorporating multiple trades outside of our traditional works. o Commercial Business o Local Authorities o Hotel & Leisure Facilities o NHS/Medical Centres o Automotive o Retail o FM o M&E Contractors The sales and management team would support and develop the opportunities currently within the business whilst supporting new opportunities through tendering and designs, to provide the platform for the proposed sustainable growth. Key Skills • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills • Strong project management experience with an understanding of commercial market. • Strong design and application of all types of HVAC systems • Ability to organise and prioritise workload • Experience in use of Microsoft Office suite of software as well as others needed for the job role.
