The Role
Carlisle Support Services is looking for an Electrical Supervisor, based at our Hackney Wick office in Hackney. The role involves managing the daily running of hard services across the Arriva Rail London contract, working a 4 on/4 off pattern with 12‑hour shifts and a 1‑hour unpaid lunch break, and includes required weekend work.
Core Responsibilities
* Ensure statutory compliance is up to date.
* Carry out engineers’ appraisals with line manager.
* Attend client meetings as required.
* Supervise/escort subcontractors.
* Conduct surveys to compile quotations for remedial works and small projects.
* Manage reactive faults and PPMs with scheduling team.
* Assist the reactive helpdesk with information for task completion.
* Complete and manage PPM‑based risk assessments.
* Manage HSQE requirements.
* Vet RAMS and safe systems of work when supervising subcontractors.
* Complete permit‑to‑work documents for subcontractors.
* Track progress updates on spares and other procured materials and equipment.
* Act as part of a full TFM account delivery team and collaborate across service streams.
* Assist the Contract Manager to optimise operational performance and engineering efficiency.
* Guide and support site engineering team.
* Provide holiday and sickness cover for teammates if required.
* Review operational performance with Account Manager to maximise engineering efficiency and first‑time fix ratio.
* Develop engineering team through performance management, succession planning and personal development.
* Build effective relationships with internal clients and key stakeholders.
* Deliver engineer and site audits in line with company Health & Safety policy.
* Provide PDA field training for new and existing engineers when required.
* Engage new engineering team members and new‑starter process to ensure a seamless introduction to the contract.
Ideal Candidate
* A Time Served Electrical apprenticeship with broad electrical systems knowledge.
* Experience managing a team of engineers.
* PTS training.
* JIB card.
* Sentinel card preferred.
* Flexibility to adapt to new challenges.
* CCS.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Experience/knowledge of TfL work or rail preferred.
