SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Ickenham Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only UES1 A specialist SEN school in Ickenham is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school supports pupils with a range of complex special educational needs, and provides a structured, nurturing environment where pupils are supported to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. About the Role As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: * Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs * Support pupils with needs such as Autism (ASC), SLD/PMLD, communication difficulties, and associated sensory or physical needs * Assist with adapted, sensory-based, and practical learning activities * Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation * Use visual supports, PECS, Makaton, or AAC where appropriate * Support pupils with personal care and mobility when required * Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet EHCP targets * Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment What We’re Looking For * Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school or care setting) * Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Willingness to support personal care and physical needs * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
