Role Responsibility: SOFT SERVICES CATEGORY MANAGER Salary: £60,000 - £66,950 per annum Working hours: Monday - Friday Location: Home Based Excellent Company benefits including Contributory Pension G4S Facilities Management is looking for a home-based, full-time Category Manager for Soft FM Services. This role focuses on leading supplier sourcing and performance strategies to enhance compliance and overall business value. You'll partner with business units and stakeholders to align procurement objectives with broader organisational requirements. Key responsibilities: Oversee and optimise Soft FM supplier performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practice. Drive measurable improvements by monitoring supplier performance and recommending changes when necessary. Ensure all projects adhere to agreed procurement governance and are managed using designated systems. Act as the expert and primary day-to-day Procurement contact for your assigned area, establishing yourself as a seasoned professional among stakeholders. Exhibit strong stakeholder management skills, confidently and autonomously building effective relationships across all levels. Maintain an in-depth understanding of all legislation impacting the Soft FM supply chain. Provide leadership in the management and implementation of Soft FM supply contracts. Maximize the FM business's procurement leverage through structured supplier rationalisation and consolidation programs. Ensure full contractual and legal compliance, verifying suppliers rigorously meet contractual conditions and legislative requirements, including risk assessments. Conduct regular market testing and benchmarking to ensure ongoing market competitiveness, value for money, and best practice. The Ideal Candidate: To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who - Has proven expertise in supplier relationship and contract management, with 3-5 years of demonstrable experience. Has strong a deep understanding of commercial and operational requirements, with the ability to present them authoritatively. Has a track record of developing and delivering strategies that achieve sustainable compliance and performance benefits. Is highly organised, with experience in both project and program management, and a history of successfully deploying major change initiatives. Has strong technical skills in supplier and contract management, including the ability to write and implement robust SLA/KPIs, and to negotiate high-profile procurement contracts. Has excellent written and communication skills. Has prior experience in an FM or services environment.
