National Account Manager – Optical Retailers (UK & Ireland) This role ensures that our interaction with our Key Accounts in the Optical retail space is collaborative in nature and grows their lifetime value to Scope against both revenue, distribution, and profitability targets. Key customers here will be Specsavers, Vision Express, Boots Opticians & Hakim group among others. Key Responsibilities; Working on an eyecare portfolio of products with a range of optical chain customers Experience in dealing with medical device and cosmetic classification portfolios. Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in a variety of departments within designated accounts. For example, buyers, education teams, medical leads and supply chain to establish Scope as a preferred supplier in these key accounts. Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume growth, NPD distribution and space/visibility strategic objectives in designated accounts. Seek out new opportunities within each assigned customer, build innovative solutions that can drive the customers average transaction spend, basket spend and overall repeat / regime rates within the eyecare / eye health / accessories category. Proactively lead a joint business plan process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a preferred partner relationship. Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customers’ needs on an ongoing basis. Manages potential channel conflict internally and externally with other sales channels by developing excellent communication internally and externally, and through strict adherence to optical channel rules of engagement. Work on promotional programmes that deliver results for Scope and our retail partners with a clear focus on profitability & ROI analysis. Know the competition, understand their in market performance and their strengths and weaknesses and leverage these in customer JBP’s and negotiations. Working closely with different teams at Scope, e.g. sales, commercial, marketing, medical etc. Support the development of KAM(s) within the Sales structure. Qualifications Preferred Degree Level Qualification in Business, Economics or Science Specific Knowledge, Skills and Experience Preferred significant prior experience in a similar role within Eyecare or healthcare OTC categories. Demonstratable knowledge of JBP creation & execution, along with negotiation & communications skills being to a high level. Demonstrable experience of dealing with the type of customers that this role engages with: buyers, supply chain staff, medical departments, finance teams etc. Self-Motivated and can proactively drive initiatives forward within the business Collaborates effectively with Scope colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and best possible outcomes for the business Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable and capable of communicating, both written and verbal, with all levels within and outside Scope. Proficient at influencing both internal and external stakeholders with a high level of professionalism. Clear aptitude in analytical thinking, rational, and prompt; strong with data analysis Strong attention to detail with an ability to understand complex legal, financial and commercial data. Uses strong organisation and prioritisation skills with ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload. Strong technical and computer literacy; skilled in the use of tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
