We’re currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Escalator team at the Keighley factory. We’re seeking someone with strong mechanical engineering skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid commitment to safety and quality standards. This job is a site based with no travel required. Key Responsibilities: Participate in escalator gearbox refurbishments Diagnose faults and perform repairs on gearboxes, including disassembly, inspection, reconditioning, and reassembly Perform routine greasing and lubrication of gearbox components to ensure optimal performance and longevity Work with technical documentation, schematics, and manufacturer specifications Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and KONE procedures Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent Collaborate with other engineers and site teams to ensure minimal downtime and efficient service delivery Requirements: Apprentice trained Mechanical engineer or NVQ3 Mechanical Qualification Strong knowledge of gearbox mechanics, lubrication systems, and drive components Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices Good written and spoken English NVQ3 in Escalators is a plus but not mandatory We offer a range of fantastic benefits to our Engineers including: Excellent salary depending on experience Opportunity to complete NVQ3 in Escalators at KONE and become a qualified Escalator engineer 25 Days Holiday 8 Bank Holidays 1 Volunteering Day Company Pension Scheme Employee Assistance Programme Prolonged disability insurance (PDI) KONE Healthcare plan, which includes unlimited GP video consultations, diagnosis, physiotherapy KONE dental plan Life Assurance Gym membership KONE Discounts and cashback platform Service Awards for every 10 years of seniority Give As You Earn, which allows to make tax-efficient charity donations Cycle to Work Scheme In addition, we offer strong and clear progression programmes with Engineers so that you can reach your full potential.
