The role The role is responsible for generating insightful reporting which is used by stakeholders to make informed commercial decisions, while maintaining a robust controls process to ensure accuracy, and driving development of existing reporting and moving towards automation. The job holder will provide insight, analysis and commentary to stakeholders, aiming to influence and drive decisions and actions that improve the bottom line. They will also have experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, and a solid foundation in data modelling, warehousing, and analytics. This individual will support the Finance Managers and Senior Finance Managers in the Logistics division and the wider Finance team as required. What you need to do • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including story telling across both backwards looking and forward looking performance • Support in embedding a new reporting vision, through process improvement, reviewing manual reporting processes and providing support to identify opportunities to automate and streamline • Run and interpret management reporting to provide timely insight, analysis and commentary to stakeholders • Lead development of new reporting using BI tools, and assisting with data modelling, warehousing and visualisation • Identify risks and opportunities to trends and flag these to Finance Manager and business partners for onward action • Complete ad hoc / bespoke analysis for the business area as required to drive improvements • Work with the wider Logistics Finance team, supporting the Business Partners, Insight & Analysis and Strategy teams • Work with internal teams including FP&A, Cost Accounting, Supply Chain, and ADA as required to complete analysis to resolve business problems. • Build business cases and support post implementation reviews • Support the wider team on other Finance processes, such as budgets, LV, Q2F and forecasting as required. • Attend business review meetings presenting to and supporting our Stakeholders as needed • Success in this role will mean being able to deliver timely, robust and accurate analysis; translating data into valuable business insight, communicating all relevant financial and non-financial information when needed • Generate reporting packs and presentations on KPIs and financial data What you need to know and show • Essential: Strong Excel and numerical skills, with an aptitude for turning data into analysis and insight and being able to clearly articulate this through your communication • Essential: Strong BI (preferably Power BI) tool knowledge, with experience in data modelling and warehousing, and data visualisation • Strong commercial acumen • To have a good track record of strong reporting control, but also the ability to maintain such an environment • Must have a strong eye for detail and accuracy • Team player, able to work effectively within frameworks without direct supervision • Effective communicator with all levels of stakeholders, including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen • Curiosity beyond traditional finance boundaries and ability to understand key business drivers • Self-motivated team player, able to work autonomously, prioritise with good problem-solving abilities • Ability to prioritise workload whilst managing business and finance stakeholder expectations in a fast paced, ever changing environment We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer, so you'll be welcomed whoever you are and wherever you work.
