Job Description

As Uprated continues to grow, we are looking for a Junior Social Media Manager to join our social team and support the delivery of best‑in‑class organic social campaigns across a growing portfolio of clients.

This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their social media career, building on existing experience in strategy and content planning while continuing to grow their client‑facing skills and confidence managing accounts independently. You’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of client accounts, supporting content strategy, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring projects move smoothly from planning through to delivery.

We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, creatively driven, platform‑native, and confident managing multiple moving deadlines in a fast‑paced agency environment. You should understand not just what performs on social, but why.

You’ll work closely with the wider social, influencer, creative, and client services teams to deliver engaging social content across sectors including ecommerce, lifestyle, beauty, outdoors, and home.

We offer a relaxed office environment on the top floor of an art deco building in the Lansdowne area of central Bournemouth, only a short walk from the beach.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Support the planning and delivery of organic social media activity across multiple client accounts
* Manage the day‑to‑day running of client accounts with minimal oversight, ensuring timelines, approvals, and deliverables remain on track
* Build and maintain content calendars across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms
* Work closely with the creative team to brief, review, and deliver engaging social‑first content
* Support campaign ideation sessions with platform‑aware creative ideas and trend‑led thinking
* Confidently manage day‑to‑day client communication, including calls, feedback rounds, and status updates
* Support client meetings and presentations, confidently communicating rationale and recommendations
* Monitor social performance and translate data into actionable recommendations to improve future content performance
* Understand key platform metrics including engagement rate, retention, reach, saves, shares, watch time, and click‑through rate
* Identify emerging social trends, platform updates, and cultural moments relevant to client brands
* Support community management across client accounts, ensuring tone of voice and response quality remain consistent
* Mentor and support junior members of the social team, helping review output and improve platform knowledge
* Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously within a fast‑paced agency environment
* Proactively identify blockers, flag risks early, and help keep projects moving efficiently

Required Skills & Experience

* 2–4 years of social media experience, ideally within an agency environment
* Experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
* Strong understanding of Instagram and TikTok, including platform best practices, content formats, and audience behaviours
* Existing experience supporting social strategy and content planning
* Confident managing day‑to‑day client communication and account handling
* Strong understanding of what makes content perform on social media
* Able to analyse performance data and explain why content succeeded or underperformed
* Excellent organisational and project management skills
* Comfortable working to tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities
* Confident writing copy across different brand tones of voice
* Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members is preferred
* Familiarity with scheduling and reporting platforms such as Sprout Social or similar
* Experience using CapCut, Premiere Pro, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools
* Strong attention to detail and quality control across content and reporting

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who genuinely lives and breathes social media. Someone who is naturally immersed in platform culture, understands internet behaviour, and is constantly paying attention to what makes content perform.

You should:

* Have favourite creators, brands, or campaigns you actively follow and take inspiration from
* Be confident identifying why content performs well — from hooks and storytelling to editing style and audience behaviour
* Stay on top of platform updates, trends, and emerging content formats
* Understand how to audit a social account and identify opportunities for growth
* Naturally think in terms of content ideas, audience engagement, and platform‑first creative
* Be proactive, curious, and excited by social media beyond just the day‑to‑day responsibilities of the role

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about the industry and excited to continuously learn, test, and evolve alongside social culture.

Bonus Points

* Experience contributing to wider social strategy or campaign planning
* Understanding of how paid social and influencer marketing integrate with organic social
* Experience supporting new business pitches or proposal development
* Strong awareness of social culture, creators, and emerging digital trends
* Able to confidently explain favourite brands, creators, or campaigns and why they perform well

* Flexible hybrid working
* Opportunity to grow within a rapidly expanding social and influencer team
* Opportunity to work across exciting consumer brands and campaigns
* Ongoing development and progression opportunities
* Relaxed office environment close to the beach
* Birthday off in addition to annual leave
