Our client School is a co-educational special school catering to 72 pupils aged 4 to 16, specialising in children whose primary needs relate to speech, language, and communication difficulties. With campuses in Twickenham, both primary and secondary, our dedicated staff brings a wealth of experience to provide supportive learning for all. Through our academic, social, and therapeutic curricula, we aim to equip our students with the skills, knowledge, and resilience to play a meaningful part in society.
Join Our Team:
We are currently seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team. At Client School, we uphold high expectations for both our learners and staff. With our "small schools" and small class sizes, we ensure that every student receives consistent and supportive attention tailored to their individual needs. Our ultimate goal is to facilitate enjoyable learning experiences, challenge students, and empower them to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with severe and complex learning difficulties, autism, and physical/sensory disabilities.
* Assisting in the implementation of individualized educational plans.
* Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to meet the specific needs of each student.
* Encouraging student engagement and participation in learning activities.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
* Understanding of different learning styles and ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
* An understanding of Makaton and Pecs would be advantageous; however the school has facilities to teach educators these techniques
