We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with one of our secondary schools in the Stockport area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students in line with their EHCPs Assist in managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment Support students both in and out of the classroom Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals Carry out general TA duties including classroom support and small group interventions What We’re Looking For: Resilience, understanding, compassion, and patience are essential Experience working with children or adults with behavioural, social, or mental health needs Ability to build trusting relationships with students and staff Strong communication and teamwork skills A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning and wellbeing Requirements: Experience in a similar role or setting (voluntary or paid) Valid Enhanced DBS for both adults and children (or willingness to obtain one) Completion of Safeguarding Training (provided ...
