1:1 Teaching Assistant

Contract: Term-Time, Full-Time
Rate of Pay: From £13.75 to £15 per hour
About the Role
Teaching Personnel are delighted to be seeking a caring, committed and empathetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with behavioural and social‑emotional needs. This is a fantastic role for someone passionate about helping children thrive and looking to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing primary school environment.
You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team to ensure the pupil receives consistent, targeted support that promotes confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
Provide dedicated 1:1 behaviour support for a Year 1 pupil, closely tailored to their individual needs.
Work collaboratively with the SENCO, parents and external agencies to implement consistent support strategies.
Encourage positive social interactions, emotional regulation and confidence‑building.
Support the class teacher with lesson delivery, adapting activities and resources where necessary.
Foster an inclusive, nurturing learning environment, contributing to the pupil’s holistic development.

What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children in support, TA, SEN, or behavioural roles.
Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
A patient, understanding and child‑centred approach.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Minimum GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in core subjects.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
