We are seeking a patient and supportive Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 3 student who requires additional support to stay focused and make progress in their learning. Pupils feel happy, safe, and valued in this inclusive school. Staff understand and support individual needs, helping pupils achieve well and develop resilience. Positive behaviour, enriching activities, and inspirational visitors encourage pupils to aim high and prepare confidently for their future. This position will begin in November 2025 on a temporary, day-to-day basis. Duties as Teaching Assistant: Provide 1:1 academic and emotional support to a Year 3 student who is working below age-related expectations Encourage focus, motivation, and positive learning habits Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and differentiated learning activities Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff Support classroom routines and behaviour management strategies Ideal Teaching Assistant: Previous experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in Key Stage 2 A calm, patient, and encouraging approach Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a Teaching Assistant Ability to adapt to the individual learning needs of the student Why Step Teachers?
