Your Role: What Will You Be Doing?

As a Community Engagement Practitioner, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary NHS team, collaborating with clinicians, social workers, and community partners to support adults facing moderate to severe mental illness. Here’s what you can expect:

* Manage a caseload of service users, acting as their key point of contact.
* Contribute to care planning, progress monitoring, and discharge support using the RiO clinical records system.
* Co-develop person-centred recovery plans that prioritize social goals and community integration.
* Build strong therapeutic relationships using trauma-informed and strength-based approaches.
* Assist service users in accessing local resources, attending appointments, and engaging in well-being activities.
* Promote recovery-focused communication and advocate for co-production and integrated care.
* Represent Hestia and the Community Mental Health Team at clinical meetings and community events.
* Maintain accurate documentation of all support activities and risk assessments.
* Adhere to safeguarding protocols, health and safety procedures, and quality standards.
* Participate in ongoing supervision, training, and annual appraisals.

What Do You Need to Bring?

We’re looking for someone who embodies our values and is eager to learn. While you don’t need to check every box, here’s what would make you a great fit:

* NVQ Level 4 in Care (or equivalent) or at least two years of experience in a mental health setting.
* Strong understanding of mental health issues, recovery principles, and co-production.
* Experience collaborating with professionals, services, and community partners.
* Knowledge of care planning, risk assessment, and relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in IT systems, including electronic case management tools.
* Resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed practice.
* Desirable: Lived experience of mental illness, peer support training, and knowledge of local community resources.

Interview Steps: What to Expect

We keep our interview process straightforward, so you know exactly what to expect:

* Shortlisting Call: Our recruitment specialists will discuss your experience, motivations, and values, while sharing the great work we do!
* Face-to-Face Interview: You’ll meet with the hiring manager for a values and competency-based interview.

Don’t worry if there are additional stages; it’s all part of our thorough process for some roles.
