We have a brand-new opportunity for a proactive and knowledgeable Group Waste Manager to support the delivery of waste management excellence across our business. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on environmental and sustainability performance, driving continual improvement and sustainable growth across all our projects. The role also includes key responsibilities in delivering measurable outcomes, such as timely regulatory reporting, increasing the use of recycled materials across the business, and achieving zero waste to landfill. Here are some of the activities you will be involved in… Developing Group waste management standards to ensure compliance with UK legislation Writing, updating, and maintaining environmental management system waste management processes and procedures Conducting audits with the E&S Team and waste supply chain to verify compliance with management systems and legal requirements Providing expert advice to the business on waste management, legal compliance, and upcoming legislative changes Promoting waste minimisation, recycling, and innovative use of recycled products, including aggregates Supporting accurate environmental data collection, monitoring, analysis, and reporting both internally and to clients Building collaborative relationships across the business and with external stakeholders, including clients, regulators, suppliers, and landowners Delivering environmental awareness and training to employees, fostering a positive environmental culture Supporting business environmental and sustainability initiatives, strategies, and innovation practices We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate… You have a strong track record in waste management, including experience of environmental permitting and implementing environmental management systems. Ideally, you will hold a degree in an environmental-related field or have equivalent experience, with membership of a professional environmental body such as CIWM or IESP being advantageous. Experience in construction and working collaboratively across operational teams is desirable. This role is well-suited to someone who enjoys building strong relationships both internally and externally so we'll be making good use of your highly developed communication skills. Experience promoting innovative solutions, delivering training, and embedding a positive environmental culture is highly valued. A full and valid UK Driving Licence is essential.
