OVERVIEW:
- Undertake all aspects of criminal defence work within the firm's crime department
- Manage a varied caseload, providing advice and representation from police station to Magistrates' and Crown Court proceedings
- Prepare cases thoroughly and draft legal documentation
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and legal aid requirements
- Effectively manage workload and prioritise tasks in a busy environment
- Work closely with colleagues and external professionals, including counsel, court staff and the police
- Deliver a high standard of client care
- Newly Qualified Solicitor and/or Duty Solicitor with a strong interest in criminal defence work
- Good computer literacy and keyboard skills
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to perform well under pressure in a fast:paced environment
- Full driving licence and access to a car (parking provided)
