As an Assessor, you will support learners in the workplace, helping them develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to achieve their qualifications. You will work closely with employers and learners to ensure high-quality assessment, timely progress, and successful outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assess learners working towards vocational qualifications or apprenticeships Conduct workplace visits and remote reviews to monitor progress Provide constructive feedback and support to help learners achieve Ensure timely completion of assessments and reviews Maintain accurate and compliant learner records Liaise with employers to support learner development Ensure compliance with awarding body and funding requirements Promote safeguarding, equality, and health & safety Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Essential Relevant industry experience in your vocational area Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to support and motivate learners Good organisational and administrative skills Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding Desirable Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA/CAVA or equivalent) Teaching or coaching qualification Experience working with apprenticeships Experience within Further Education or training environments Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications: ✅ Accepted Qualifications: DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) Certificate in Education PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education) DET (Diploma in Education and Training) DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998). ❌ Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications: PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) SFHEA (Senior Fellowship) Masters in Education TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) If you have any questions regarding your eligibility, please get in touch.
