We are seeking a Part-Time Research Assistant to support a British Academy-funded project led by Dr. Ruth Cheung Judge. The project investigates the lived experiences of Nigerian Masters students in the UK, focusing on how recent immigration policy changes impact their family lives: Specifically, the restriction on bringing dependants to the UK. You will work with Dr. Ruth Cheung Judge to conduct primary research recruiting participants, conducting 15-20 in-depth interviews with current and prospective Nigerian masters students and their family members, and transcribing interviews. The role will also offer some opportunities to actively contribute to research design, data analysis, presentations, and public engagement outputs. To support professional growth, the Research Assistant will receive monthly mentorship sessions. All project publications will credit the RA by name in recognition of their contributions. The post is based in the Department of Geography and Planning and will be part of the Power, Space and Cultural Change Research Group.
