Year Group Manager
Humly is recruiting a Year Group Manager to join a primary school on a permanent basis.
This is a full-time role starting 23 February 2026 and continuing until 17 July 2026. This position would suit a proactive and organised professional who is keen to make a meaningful difference to the outcomes, wellbeing, and safeguarding of young people.
What You’ll Be Doing

Manage the daily operation of a specific year group, ensuring smooth classroom and pastoral coordination
*
Support and mentor teaching assistants, HLTAs, or cover supervisors within the year group
*
Monitor pupil progress and implement targeted interventions to support learning and development
*
Collaborate with teaching staff to maintain high standards of behaviour and safeguarding
*
Coordinate year group activities, assemblies, and events in line with school policies
*
Liaise with parents and external agencies to support pupils’ needs
What You’ll Bring
*
Proven experience in a teaching or support role within primary education
*
Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team
*
Knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour management, and inclusive education practices
*
Ability to plan, monitor, and assess interventions to support pupil outcomes
*
Excellent communication skills with staff, pupils, and parents
*
HLTA, Teaching Assistant, or Cover Supervisor qualification desirable
Pay
*
Teaching Assistant: £13.70 per hour
*
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA): £17.21 per hour
*
Cover Supervisor: £115 per day

Important Information

Full-time role, 37 hours per week, term time plus one additional week (39 working weeks per year)
