Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for assessing the care needs of patients, planning care programs, implementing, and evaluating these programs independently. To assist with education and supervision of learners. Occasionally, expected to be in charge of the ward/shift and to supervise and coordinate other staff as appropriate, developing self and others professionally.

* Able to work well under pressure, demonstrating a calm and resilient approach.
* Knowledge of safeguarding children, able to recognize concerns, escalate appropriately, and ensure staff compliance with Trust policy.
Desirable criteria
* Member of external national forums e.g., RCN children’s forums.
