Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Service Hours flexible – Mon to Fri between 08:00 – 20:00). Working patterns include full-time, part-time, and flexible working.

Main duties of the job
As a PWP you play an integral part in the service, from promotional work to assessing patients and delivering clinical, evidence-based low-intensity interventions to help service users manage their mental health and achieve lasting changes. You will carry out clinical contacts 1:1 face to face, over the telephone, video consultation, and group courses (remotely and in person). You will also participate in discussions with step 3 and/or step 4 clinicians to ensure safe onward referrals and maintain patient dignity and confidentiality. There may be opportunities for community outreach to promote our work to other services, educational settings and careers events.
The post-holder will work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and promoting equal opportunities. The role requires occasional evening work between 5pm and 8pm and potential early mornings between 8am and 8pm as service needs dictate.
In addition to LI and HI CBT, the service offers Counselling for Depression, Couples Therapy for Depression, Mindfulness-based CBT, IPT and EMDR. We are developing links with Primary Care Networks and Secondary Care Mental Health Teams.
Responsibilities and duties
* Complete clinical contacts 1:1 (face to face, telephone, or video) and participate in group courses.
* Provide evidence-based Low Intensity Psychological Interventions within stepped care.
* Collaborate with step 3/4 clinicians to ensure appropriate step ups and safe referrals.
* Engage in community outreach to promote services.
* Maintain patient dignity, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity, using interpreters when needed.
* Work flexibly across service hours to meet patient needs.
Qualifications
* Degree in IAPT Low Intensity Psychological Therapies Practice (PWP).
* Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem.
* Experience of working in Primary Care Services.
Skills
* Experience in a service with agreed targets and demonstrated clinical outcomes.
* Computer literacy and strong verbal/written communication skills, including telephone skills.
