A Leeds-based business is looking for a hands-on Bookkeeper to take ownership of the daily finance tasks that keep the business operating effectively. This role focuses on maintaining accurate records, supporting colleagues across the business, and ensuring finance processes run reliably each month.
It's ideal for someone who enjoys working with the detail, staying organised, and being the person others rely on to keep the financial side of things in order.
What will you be doing?
* Calculating monthly sales commission and coordinating approvals with relevant departments
* Processing payroll, including HMRC submissions, pension uploads and payments
* Supporting the wider finance function with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks
* Handling HR administration such as starters, leavers, contract updates and HR system records
* Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
* Reconciling company credit cards
* Providing occasional support to Credit Control when required
* Ensuring the purchase ledger is up to date and closed on time each month
* Issuing sales invoices promptly
* Managing supplier payments and helping resolve account queries
What do you need?
* Previous experience in a bookkeeping or finance role
* Experience processing payroll and submitting VAT returns
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines
* Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with colleagues across the business
